Dear Lobstah Lovers,
It’s peak polar vortex season now that we’re well into the first months of 2015, but at Ed’s Lobster Bar, we’re glad to have upgraded our heating system. In fact, we’re radiating overtime to make your Valentine’s Day hotter than ever!
For years, linguists have puzzled over an uncanny phenomenon: that in most of the world’s languages, the word for “lobster” also means “I love you.” But don’t worry about the etymology, just use the upcoming occasion to share some lobster with your beloved! Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, but because there are too many lovers in New York City for one special night of dining, we’re extending our specials for the entire week. Come in for $2 oysters, our (usually Thursday-only) $28 whole lobster special, and half-off all bottles of sparkling wine. For you and your sweethearts, the love is all week long.
Another tradition at Ed’s Lobster Bar is Presidents’ Day, which falls on Monday, February 16 this year. Come in to Ed’s with a convincing resemblance to any former president, and we’ll pour you a free glass of house red or white wine with your entrée!
In other news, Ed’s Lobster Bar has opened a new space in the former meatpacking trading post that’s now The Gansevoort Market (52 Gansevoort at Greenwich) — a welcome culinary outpost near the south end of the High Line. I’ve been delighted to see so many familiar faces dropping in to get their lobsters fix at our new location.  If you haven’t been by already, we’ll look forward to your visit!
And as always, please don’t forget to let the world know how much you heart ELB.  Like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram for breaking news, or just lobster-breaking news.
Lobstah Love,
Ed McFarland
